Reporting to the Partner of the Litigation Team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team at OMB Solicitors’ office in Southport, Queensland. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be an integral part of the firm’s litigation practice, providing high-quality support to solicitors and assisting with all aspects of the litigation process.

What you’ll be doing

• Drafting and editing correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents
• Organising and maintaining electronic and physical case files
• Assisting with the discovery process, including the collection, review, and organisation of documents
• Providing administrative support to the litigation team, such as scheduling appointments and managing deadlines
• Collaborating with the wider legal team to ensure the efficient and effective handling of litigation matters
• Conducting legal research and analysis to support the preparation of court documents and other litigation materials

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Litigation Paralegal or similar role within a legal environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficient in the use of legal research databases and MS Office suite
• Experience with LawMaster Practice Management System is advantageous, however not essential
• Ability to attend to transcription of dictation
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required
• The ability to show initiative and forward thinking

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join our expanding team at OMB Solicitors, based in Southport on the Gold Coast. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career with a boutique law firm that offers both autonomy and support.

Reporting to the Partner of the Litigation Team, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services across a wide range of litigation and dispute resolution matters. You’ll have the opportunity to run your own matters from start to finish while receiving guidance and mentoring as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing litigation and dispute resolution matters, including:
  • Commercial litigation
  • General civil disputes
  • Building and construction disputes
  • Body corporate disputes
  • Debt recovery
• Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, advice, agreements, and correspondence
• Attending and advocating in courts and tribunals (QCAT to Federal Court)
• Developing legal strategies to resolve both simple and complex disputes
• Participating in business development, networking, and client relationship management

What We’re Looking For

• Admission as a solicitor in Queensland
• Minimum 2 years’ post-admission experience in litigation and dispute resolution
• Strong drafting and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage files with autonomy and sound judgment
• Client-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
• High level of attention to detail and strong technical capabilities
• Team-oriented approach with a willingness to contribute to a positive workplace culture
