G'day, I'm Cameron Marshall from OMB Solicitors, I work in the litigation department, and I'm here to talk about how I can help you in your litigation matters from an early stage in the proceedings.

I'll talk about, for instance, a building dispute or a building claim you may have because of defective work. My recommendation is that you come and see OMB Solicitors, of course, at an early stage, to help you with the step of identifying the defects in the building.

Recently, I'm starting to see a lot of occasions where the client has come in with a building expert report, which is a good thing, identifying what the defects are to the building. But unfortunately, because of the strict rules that apply when using expert reports, I can't use it in court.

So when you've got a problem with your building, if you think there's some defects, come in to see us. I'll have a short chat, and I'll be able to guide you how to get an expert report.

Reason I say this is you can save some money by not doubling up on costs, because an expert report to be filed and used in court in litigation has to satisfy the court rules, and if it doesn't, you'll have to pay an expert to do that again. So, in short, if you've got a problem with your building, come and see me.

I'll help you source an expert who knows how to write a report and to be able to comment on the defects, and it can be used in your proceedings, and the important thing is, you know where you're going right from the start, how to fix the building and if you need to, you'll be in a good place to start your litigation.
